Superiority of Grade 3 Dry-Wet (Rainy Night) Continuous Reflective Markings

Release time: 2020-03-27

Summary: Continuous retroreflection: Ensures that the retroreflective brightness coefficient of traffic markings remains consistent throughout their entire service life, guaranteeing that as long as the markings are present, so is their retroreflectivity.

1. Continuous retroreflection: Ensures that the retroreflective brightness coefficient of traffic markings remains consistent throughout their entire service life, guaranteeing that as long as the markings are present, so is their retroreflectivity.

2. Rainy-night reflectivity: This significantly reduces the cost of previously used ceramic-bead-based rainy-night reflective markings, making rainy-night reflective markings more accessible to the general public.

3. Long service life: The marking paint has been improved in terms of compressive strength (the compressive strength of thermoplastic marking paint specified in JT/T280-2004 is 12 MPa) and abrasion resistance (according to the JT/T280-2004 standard, the abrasion loss of thermoplastic marking paint should be ≤80 mg per 200 revolutions; this paint achieves an abrasion loss of as low as ≤20 mg per 200 revolutions), significantly extending its service life and reducing the average cost of marking maintenance.

4. Enhanced Glass Bead Adhesion: By increasing the organic content of the marking paint, we have significantly improved the adhesion of glass beads, making them less likely to fall off. (Typical national standard hot-melt marking paints typically lose their surface-applied glass beads within three months; however, with our Grade III reflective marking paint, data shows that the surface-applied glass beads remain largely intact even after one year of traffic use, effectively addressing the issue of sustained reflectivity in road markings.)

5. Enhancing Weather Resistance and Daytime Visibility: In countries such as the United States, South Korea, and Australia, the titanium dioxide content in thermoplastic road marking paints must exceed 10%. In European countries, the titanium dioxide content in thermoplastic road marking paints must be greater than 6%. However, China’s thermoplastic road marking paints do not specify any requirements for titanium dioxide content. Therefore, by increasing the titanium dioxide content, we can further improve the retroreflectivity, weather resistance, and daytime visibility of these marking paints.

6. Enhance the softening point: Use petroleum resins with high softening points and polyethylene wax to make the marking surface more resistant to high-temperature softening and better able to resist dirt and contamination.
